Reminder: Covid-19 in Germany

Covid-19 has taken a backseat during the summer month. That may have to do with the milder course of this Omikron variant and the decline of attention, because of the Ukraine war and its consequences for us concerning the coming winter. Nevertheless, to prevent the spreading of Corona, it’s recommended by the Robert Koch Institute (See above) to be fully vaccinated, that means 2 vaccinations plus a booster shot.

I have gotten my 4th vaccination today, which is recommended by the Stiko against the new Omikron variant BA.4 and BA.5 for those who are 60+. Because I belong to a risk group (overweight, high blood pressure) there was no doubt for the doctors to vaccinate me. The German Health Minister recommends the 4th vaccination too: “

I was vaccinated with the new, against Omicron BA.4 / BA. 5 adapted vaccine from Pfizer / Biontech, which is a mRNA vaccine. My booster vaccination before, was also a mRNA vaccine from Pfizer / Biontech, which didn’t cause me big side effects. So I don’t expect any with this new modified vaccine either. (Volker Schunck)
